Ground colour inside white (155D) towards edge, more a mixture of white and pale greenish yellow (2D) towards the middle of the petals, most of the yellow colouring fading after 2 days; small, strong purplish red (58B-C) bands on inner petals reach from base to mid petal, on the outer petals the bands almost reach the tip; outside dark red (183B) shading to moderate reddish orange (179C) mixed with white (155D), midribs strong yellowish green (141C-D); deep purplish red (71A) spots evenly distributed from base to 3/4 of petal; nectaries yellow/green; pollen strong reddish orange (169A); stigma pale yellow-green (157A). Fls 230-250mm wide; petals 110-120 x 40-65mm, margins slightly ruffled, tips slightly recurved. Lvs alternate, 150 x 50mm, mid green. Stems 0.9-1.1m, deep/strong yellowish green (141B/C), with dark brown markings and 3-10 fls. Late July to early August. |
