Flower snow-white, with a long pendulant pedicel, leaves greyish green, elegant hybrid of nivalis L. with very long pedicals. February-March flowering. Leaves ca. erect, 11 x 0.9 cm, glaucescent, margins flat or narrowly explicative in no particular combination. Scape semi-erect, 23 cm. Spathe 50 mm, valves slightly inflated. Pedicel 57 mm. Outer segments narrowly elliptical (as in British G. nivalis), 28 mm, l:w approx. 7:4. Inner segments l:w 7:6; sinus equilateral, medium; mark on apical 2/5 a V (angle 70 gr.) of uniform width with squarish arm-ends, slightly blurred in yellowish olive-green on basal side. Ovary l:w 8:5. |
