Summary colour: violet 77C with grey 157A. Leaves 33 cm long, 7 mm wide, green with a slight gloss, yellow-green keel, stained pink-violet at base. Scape 30-43 cm, glaucous but shiny brown-green beneath coating with fine speckles of brown. Umbel 5-8 flowered. Pedicels glaucous, 18 mm but extending to 3.5 cm at anthesis. Perianth bube 12 mm long, 4 mm wide, pale-green suffused pinkish-violet. Perianth segments ovate with acute apex in 2 whorls placed close together held at right angles to the tube, iridescent gold edged purple-pink, 10 mm long, 4.5 mm wide. Corona on opening of 3 separate scales attached to the root of the upper whorl, bifid and recurving outwards, purple-pink, 3 mm long, 3 mm wide. Anthers in 2 alternate whorls, upper approximately 1.5 mm below base of upper perianth segment, lower whorl approximately 2 mm below. Ovary 3.5 long, 3 mm wide. Style approximately 1 mm. Stigma capitates. Capsule obcordate. 12 mm long at maturity. |
