Description |
The bulb is nearly spherical and covered with black skin, 5-6 cm in diameter. In late August, the flower stems with a length of 45-50 cm emerge from the bulbs and formed an umbel with 6-8 light greenish yellow and bilaterally symmetrical flowers. The flower buds are strong red, and obvious red ribs spread on the petals during blooming. Each flower has six strong reflexed petals and waves on petal edges. The strong red stamens are about 1/3 longer than the petals, and the deep red stigma is about 1/2 longer than the petals. The length of the perianth tube is about 1-1.2 cm. Petals are 5-6 cm long and 1-1.2cm wide, flower diameter is 6-8cm, and inflorescence diameter is 23-24cm, which is larger than L. straminea. Differs from Lycoris straminea, which has light yellow flowers and a few pink stripes or spots on the ventral surface of the petals. |
