Inside of tepals light purplish pink (62C) becoming pale purplish pink (62D) in distal margin edges, base of tepal strong red (53D) to approximately halfway then 62C to tip; midveins 62C but occasionally yellowish white (158D) or yellow-green on innermost tepals; throat strong red (53D). Outside of inner tepals light purplish pink (63D), becoming very light pink to pinkish white on innermost tepals. Outside of outer tepals broadly light yellow-green (145C) either side of midrib becoming light yellow-green (145D) flushed light purplish pink in margins; midribs moderate olive-green (146A). Spots absent; numerous vivid red (45A) papillae in basal half to two-thirds; nectaries yellow-green narrowly edged in yellowish white (158D), open; residual stamens with pollen-bearing anthers occasionally present, pollen orange-brown where present. Fls 200 mm wide, double, slightly scented; tepals 105 × 50 mm, margins ruffled, tips slightly recurved. Lvs 200 × 59 mm, scattered, moderate yellow-green (138B). Stems 1.1 m, moderate yellow-green (147C), with up to 5 fls. (average 4 fls). June-July. Average hardiness. |
